March 20, 2026

The Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new leadership team, confirmed at AIHHP’s Annual General Meeting held on Weds 18th March 2026.

Emily Woodmansey, founder and Managing Director of The Hearing Suite, has been appointed as Chair of AIHHP, and Peter Byrom, founder and Managing Director of Byrom Audiology, has been appointed as Vice Chair.

Emily brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to independent audiology, and has been an active and valued member of AIHHP’s Council. As Chair, she will lead the Association in continuing to champion professional excellence, support independent practice, and strengthen the voice of audiology across the UK.

Commenting on her appointment, Emily said:
“It’s a real privilege not only to be a part of an organisation like AIHHP, but to take on the role of Chair to help steer its strategy and direction for the next 2 years. I feel very proud of the values and direction AIHHP’s board has taken, in response to a changing environment. I am confident we will continue to be the organisation for independent businesses which pioneer and deliver the finest audiological care.”

Peter Byrom steps into the role of Vice Chair following a closely contested election. With his strong commitment to clinical standards and member engagement, Peter will play a key role in supporting the Chair and Council in delivering AIHHP’s strategic objectives.

Commenting on his appointment, Peter said:
“I’m honoured to take on the role of Vice Chair at AIHHP and to support Emily and the wider Council in continuing to strengthen our profession. Independent audiology plays a vital role in delivering truly personalised, patient-centred care, and I’m passionate about ensuring we continue to uphold the highest clinical standards while supporting our members to thrive in an evolving landscape.”

AIHHP would also like to extend its sincere thanks to the outgoing Chair for their leadership, dedication, and significant contribution to the Association.
