AIHHP’s Statement regarding the announced withdrawal from the ‘College of Audiology’ by the British Academy of Audiology (BAA)December 17, 2019
The Association of Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals (AIHHP) fully supports the recent joint statement issued by BSHAA, BSA and NCHA with regards to the withdrawal by the board of the BAA from the College of Audiology discussions. This is a disappointment for all involved, as there has been so much positivity shown by the separate organisations within the UK Audiology community during the meetings up until the decision by BAA’s board.
To act with one voice, with a more joined up approach and an aim of uniting the UK hearing care profession, AIHHP believes would better support and lead to better outcomes for the UK’s hard of hearing population.
AIHHP hopes that the BAA board and others, will soon return to the discussion table to make hearing services in this country the best that they can possibly be.
AIHHP is committed to continuing to participate in discussions with fellow professional bodies and aims to help progress towards the goal of a unified professional voice for UK Audiology.
